Zanzibar, Chukwani, (SUN) –The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Msafiri Mshewa has strongly urged the newly enrolled students to take their studies seriously and aim for First Class Degree final results right at the beginning of the first semester.

Addressing the students Orientation Week here Prof. Mshewa told the students it was very possible for them to attain First Class Degree final results if they maintained best performance throughout the period of their studies.

He told them the credentials which qualified them to join the University after the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) approval were strong enough for them to attain best performance if they would take their studies seriously.

He advised them to closely observe the University General and Examination Regulations for them to live comfortable social and academic life at the campus.

He told the students that it was their right to assess the performance of their lecturers and ask for course outlines at the beginning of the semester to get clear direction of what they are supposed to study in their programs.

Over 200 newly enrolled students for degree programs this academic year (2018/2019), have started a week-long orientation week Monday with briefings about the University academic and social life.

The Tanzania Commission of University (TCU), National Council of Technical Education (NACTE) and the National Examinations Council (NECTA) have respectively approved the names of over 400 students to join Degree, Diploma and Certificate Programs in the Arts and Sciences.

SUMAIT University offers Bachelor of Science with Education, Bachelor of Arts with Education and similar programs at Diploma and Certificate levels.
