ORIENTATION WEEK ENDS WITH STRONG COUNSELLING

Zanzibar, Chukwani, (SUN): The week-long orientation for the newly enrolled students ended here with intensive briefings from top officials about the University academic and social life.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Amrani Rasli strongly urged the students to safeguard and maintain the good image of this institution of higher learning as they are its ambassadors during and after their studies.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Msafiri Mshewa urged the students to aim for First Class Degree final results right at the beginning of the first semester and take their studies seriously..
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance) Dr. Adil Hussein Taha briefed the students on finance matters including payment of the required fees as well as the loan and scholarship opportunities available at the University.
The Acting Dean of Students Dr. Nassor Hamad insisted on the observation of the University code of conduct in general and the dressing code in particular for both male and female students.
The Head of the Examinations Office, Dr. Ali Sunkar strongly urged the students to strictly observer examination regulations along with class assignments which he said were crucial for their course works.
The Tanzania Commission of University (TCU), National Council of Technical Education (NACTE) and the National Examinations Council (NECTA) have this academic year approved the names of over 400 students to join Degree, Diploma and Certificate Programs in the Arts and Sciences respectively.
SUMAIT University offers Bachelor of Science with Education, Bachelor of Arts with Education and similar programs at Diploma and Certificate levels.
