SUMAIT University on 5-week Marketing  campaign to increase 2020/2021 enrolment

Zanzibar, Chukwani, (SUN): The Zanzibar based SUMAIT University has embarked on a five-week marketing visits to some Zanzibar and Mainland Tanzania high schools in a move  to increase student enrolment for the 2020/2021 academic year.

The University’s Marketing Officer, Fatma  Haji Khatib  said here the visits which took off  last week would cover about  20 high schools on the mainland  regions of Dar es Salaam and Tanga and 32 schools in Unguja and Pemba islands.

According to the Marketing Officer, the campaign expects to reach  5,600 prospective students who will be sitting for their Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) examinations in April this year.

She added during the campaign students would be informed of the degree, diploma and certificate programs offered at the University for them to make better decisions during the selection  of universities after the examination results.

The Marketing Officer said some members of an 11-man campaign team comprising members of the academic and non academic staff were involved in the visits to meet prospective students.

She said such visits were crucial for SUMAIT University at this time when universities compete for students enrolments, adding “the campaign is the first of its kind since SUMAIT University became a full fledged university in 2014.”

SUMAIT University which is one of the top universities in Tanzania according to the UniRank ranking conducts Master of Arts in Sharia and Islamic Jurisprudence, Bachelor of Science with Education, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Arts with Education and Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology programmes.
