NEW STUDENTS GOVERNMENT MEETS UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION

Zanzibar, Chukwani, February 21, (SUN): The newly elected SUMAIT University Students Government has recently met the university administration to formally introduce itself and discuss various issues on students welfare at the University.
The President of the Students Government, Khamis Juma Khamis said here it was crucial for his new government to meet the administration to familiarize itself on the ways relations are conducted between the two sides.
The discussion was attended by the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Research, Publication and Consultancy), Profesor Msafiri Mshewa, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration), Dr. Adil Husseain Taha Saad and cabinet members of the students government.
According to Khamis, the meeting was centred on the emerging challenges facing the students at the campus in general and his new government in particular citing the available meager budget to run many activities of his government.
The Cabinet members who represented the students government comprised Khamis Juma Khamis (President), Farid Hamuni Juma (Vice President), Ali Abdallah Ali (Prime Minister), Ramadhan Mustafa Omar (Da’wah and Ethics), Hassan Mbarouk Ali (Loans and Empowerment), Mohamed Haji Mgeni (Health, Environment and Special Needs), Ali Salim Ali (Information and Sports), Ali Mjomba Dawa (Education) and Omar Ali Hussein (Constitutional and Legal Affairs).
