Zanzibar, Chukwani, (SUN)- The SUMAIT University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Hamed Hikmany has urged the students to be closer to the university administration insisting that students are key stakeholders in the existence of universities.

In a question-answer session with students on the eve of the final-year examinations here, Prof. Hikmany strongly urged the students to excel in their examinations warning that the public will judge the status of SUMAIT University from the students performance in their work places.

The session was also attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Msafiri Mshewa, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance), Dr. Adil Hussein Taha and Head of the Examination Office, Dr. Ali Said Sunkar.

The Vice Chancellor made a special appeal to final year students to come up with excellent performance and be good ambassadors of the university to reflect their three-year hard work at the SUMAIT University.

A total of 428 final year students here from the Faculty of Science (95), Faculty of Arts and Social Studies (294) and Faculty of Islamic Studies and Shariah (39) began their two-week long examinations, July 19.

SUMAIT University offers degree programmes in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science with Education, Bachelor of Arts with Education and Bachelor of Arts in Counseling and Psychology.
