SUMAIT UNIVERSITY CLEARS BLOCKS, REQUESTS TCU TO LIFT BAN

Zanzibar, Chukwani, (SUN) – The SUMAIT University has already cleared the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) blocks that led to the suspension of its Bachelor of Science in Computer and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology by increasing the number of staff with Master’s Degrees for the two programmes.
The Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Prof. Msaffiri Mshewa said here the TCU instruction to increase the number of staff has been fulfilled and the university has formally requested the TCU to lift the ban.
He said the university’s administration has done its best to honestly fulfill several conditions since the last TCU Special Audit to Higher Learning Institutions, October 19 to November 9, 2016 and was confidently looking forward to the TCU positive response.
The SUMAIT University has been ranked one of the top 31 universities and top 200 universities in Tanzania and Africa respectively, following the July 2017 uniRank University Ranking.
According to an updated July 2017 Ranking (www.4icu.org/tz), “The aim of the uniRank University Ranking is to provide an approximate popularity ranking of world Universities and Colleges based upon the popularity of their websites in terms of traffic, trust and quality link popularity”, uniRank said on its website.
