SUMAIT EXTENDS COLLABORATION WITH FOREIGN INSTITUTIONS

Zanzibar, Chukwani, (SUN): SUMAIT University has this year established collaborations with various universities world-wide to enhance its ability to compete with other universities by introducing new programmes and academic excellence.
Addressing the 19th Graduation Ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Amran Rasli said the move was intended to strengthen the University capacity to acquire more experience in various academic disciplines.
“These strategic partners are intended to enhance our abilities to compete with other local universities in terms of introducing new programmes and academic excellence”, Prof. Amran said.
“in order to strenthem our capacity and to acquire more experience in various academic disciplines, SUMAIT University has established collaboration with various universities in different parts of the world”, he emphasized.
Prof. Amran mentioned the institutions with which the University had in this signed Memorandum Understanding (MoU) as: International University of Africa (IUA) of Sudan, International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) of the United States, Universiti Teknologi Mara of Malaysia, Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) and NAMA Foundation.
During the Graduation, the University’s first Chancellor, Dr. Amani Abeid Karume conferred awards to 354 graduates of whom 237 received degrees, 59 received ordinary diplomas while 58 received certificates in the Arts and Sciences.
