Community Engagement & Outreach

As part of its social responsibility and national development mandate, Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT) actively engages in community service through capacity building, consultancy, social support, and cultural and educational enrichment programmes. These activities strengthen partnerships and contribute to sustainable social and economic development.


1. Capacity Building & Training

SUMAIT delivers continuous professional development to educators, staff, and students through structured training and seminars, including:

  • Training on the new secondary school curriculum for Islamic Studies teachers
  • Capacity building on newly-approved university curricula for all SUMAIT academic and administrative staff
  • Seminar series for students focusing on soft skills, leadership, communication and career readiness

2. Consultancy & Technical Support

SUMAIT provides expert consultancy and advisory services to government institutions and public agencies in Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania.
