FACULTY INTRODUCTION
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is one
of the SUMAIT University faculties since its inauguration in 2014 after the
approval of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). This faculty is
composed of five Departments namely: Department of Linguistics; Department of
Counselling Psychology; Department of Social Studies; Department of Education
and Department of Arabic. Our vision is
to be an internationally renowned Institution of Higher Learning Research,
Innovation and Public.

Biography
Prof. HibatAlla Mohamed Elhassan Salim Salih obtained her PhD in Psychology from Khartoum University-Sudan in 2006, Master of Psychology from Khartoum University-Sudan in1996, Bachelor degree in Psychology & Pre-School Education, from Ahfad University for Women-Sudan in 1990. She worked as lecturer from1994 – 1999 at universities ‘of Dongola, Blue Nile and Western Kordofan, and with long and excellent services, she was promoted to Assistant Professor till she obtained her PhD in 2006, where she joined ElNeelain University at Khartoum as a staff member. From 2010-2017 she joined Dammam and Hail universities at Saudi Arabia as a staff member. She taught thirty-two (32) courses in Psychology both in Arabic and English languages, for students at the levels of bachelors, masters, and higher diploma. In 2021 she joined Abdul Rahman Al- Sumait University in Zanzibar as an Associate Professor, and Lecturer at Counselling Psychology department, and Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in 2023. Supervised and discussed many undergraduates, postgraduates’ researches of masters, higher diplomas, and doctorate in the field of Psychology.
Her published researches in the period 2012-2017 obtained the impact factor and citations from Impact Factors and Reference Citations of Arab Scientific Journals “ARCIF “, letter No. R19/09220, received in 2019-10-17.
